Dairy Barn

The building not so affectionately known as the "Dairy Barn" was actually the first building used by the Training School. It was built from wood salvaged from the demolition of East Dormitory. The wooden, white-frame, single story building resembled a milking shed. It contained five classrooms for grades 1-9, a combination library and science laboratory, and an office for the Training School supervisor. The training school was relocated to the new Education Building (now Ferguson Social Sciences) in 1925 and the "Dairy Barn" was demolished. The "Dairy Barn" was located in roughly the same location as East Dormitory, at the intersection of Greenville and Mayo Streets, where Education Drive presently passes between David Talbot Hall of Languages and Binnion Hall.
