The musical "Journey into Blackness" was performed by Voices Inc., the black musical theater of New York City. It depicted black history from the 17th century to the 70s in dancing, singing, and short dramatic scenes. Author Alex Haley spoke at Forum Arts on his new book "Roots: A Saga of Black Heritage." His most well known work is the Autobiography of Malcom X. Haley is a professor at the University of California at Berkley. Other activities were a Black History seminar, programs of Black poetry and African art, a seminar on Black women by Dallas Morning News columnist Julia Reed, and the Black and White Ball, an all-school dance in the Student Center."
