Binnion Hall

Designed by renowned Dallas architect George Dahl, Binnion Hall was a $1 million dormitory that provided housing for 306 female students. The hall featured a large lounge on the first floor that was a popular common area. During the housing shortage of the early 1960s, female students were housed three to a room, increasing the capacity of the hall to 450. The building closed in 1972 for a $2.4 million renovation to repurpose the building for academic use. An extension from Binnion Hall to Henderson Hall was constructed in order to add elevators to both buildings. Binnion currently houses the 88.9 KETR radio station, the Marketing and Communication department, the Department of Mathematics, and the Department of Psychology & Special Education. Binnion Hall is located at the intersection of Education Drive and Monroe Street, east of Sororities and Women's Halls.
