Abstract
Early college high schools (ECHSs) are designed to increase the likelihood of college completion, especially for first-generation college students, economically disadvantaged students, and minority students. Although research has focused on implementation and outcomes within these institutions, it has not focused on the academic and non-academic practices implemented by ECHS leaders within the school model that help students become college-ready. This exploratory qualitative study examined the perceptions of various ECHS leaders to gain insight into the practices they implemented that promoted college readiness and persistence.
